In celebration of the BFI’s Japan season, coinciding with the Japan Olympics and Paralympics, we programmed a day-long celebration of Japanese cinema and culture with events taking place in Millennium Square via the We The Curious’ outdoor screen, with a special ticketed screening and food pairing at the Watershed.
The day-long celebration featured live Cooking demonstrations, Taiko Drumming, cultural workshops and games, as well as full length feature screenings of acclaimed Japanese films.
This event screened as part of Japan 2020: Over 100 years of Japanese Cinema, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network.
Compass Presents are experienced in presenting culturally specific screening events. We engage every sense, using food, music, and dance, to immerse our audiences in the world of the films shown.
